June 2018 Meeting Highlights

Here we are at our last meeting of the 2017-2018 guild season! It's our annual summer potluck dinner meeting and the day the challenges are due.

As always, there was a large selection of delicious hot and cold main course dishes and many yummy desserts to choose from.

Out came our large collection of quilted placemats and the noise volume picked up as we enjoyed visiting with friends over dinner.

The challenges this year were:

• Recycled denim challenge - Make any quilted article from recycled denim. 25% of the project must be DENIM
• Carrier/Container/Tote/Bag Challenge​ - An article that holds something.  It has to include piecing and quilting of some sort and can be any size or shape.
• President's Challenge - Design a project inspired by a page in a non quilting related magazine or book. Make a quilted project that relates to something on that page. Include the page from the magazine and a short write-up of how the item is related.

Members voted for the winner  of each challenge.

It's been a great guild year - have a wonderful summer, happy quilting (hopefully on projects that will be on display at our April 2019 quilt show), and we look forward to seeing you in September.
